Web Application Engineer with focus on Geospatial Data Processing / GIS (f/m)

You will work on:

  • IndoorViewer, our browser-based 3D application for visualization, digital enrichment and navigation of photorealistic indoor spaces – runs in any modern web browser as it is based on open standards (JavaScript, WebGL, Three.JS, AngularJS, HTML, CSS)
  • The Java-based application server which drives the web client and the navigation app
  • The PostgreSQL/PostGIS database which stores geospatially referenced data
  • Widening interoperability of our data by leveraging industry standard geospatial coordinate systems and data formats
  • Implementing features for digital enrichment of the environment using geospatial SQL, REST and AngularJS
  • Maintaining and extending our APIs for third party use; developing interesting API examples; gathering feedback in order to improve and extend the API

 

You have:

  • Profound experience in object-oriented software development and a good sense for elegant code and robust solutions for tough problems
  • A Master / Bachelor degree in geospatial information science, computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics (or similar) or no degree but self-taught top-notch coding skills
  • Good knowledge of geospatial coordinate systems, projections, libraries and software (Proj.4, GDAL, ArcGIS)
  • Worked with relational databases like PostgreSQL with geospatial extensions like PostGIS and related software like ArcGIS, GeoServer, etc.
  • Successfully implemented Java-based web-server applications or successfully implemented web-server applications in a comparable language and you have profound Java experience
  • Creativity and persistence in creating solutions that work and last

 

We will be thrilled if you have:

  • Experience with AngularJS, Three.JS, Bootstrap
  • Experience with Git, Python, Bash, Linux (e.g. Ubuntu, Debian, Redhat, SUSE)
  • Broad experience in web development
  • Frontend experience with AngularJS and Bootstrap framework
